I didn’t say I thought I was a bad mummy, I know I am a fantastic mummy.
I said I felt like a bad mummy. Big difference, folks.
And no, Mom, super moms are far a thing from the past. You should hear the stories I hear about Mummy and Toddler groups…
Actually, no…you wrote it fine.
We, the readers, mis-interpreted “feeling” like a bad mother with “being” a bad mother. But we women do that often, don’t we? Equating how we feel about ourselves with how we must be presenting ourselves to the world?
For example…think about that tiny little phrase ‘I feel fat’. Fat is not an emotion; it’s a type of cell in the body. Yet we equate the feeling with the state of being, even if it’s not true.
So it’s not you. It’s us. Or at least me, since I was the first commenter 🙂
