Final Ikea Trip Today

Bought some organization type stuff, including a box for toys for the front room.  Now we just need to put it together.

Work is really kicking my ass.  My replacement started Friday, so its non-stop training for the next two weeks.  Have you ever tried to dump 4.5 years of knowlege into someone’s head in two weeks?  Yeah, not going to be fun.

Baby is kicking and squirming constantly.  Its nice!

Tuesday is our first antenatal class.  I hope its useful.

And that’s  your Saturday afternoon brain dump.

On Infections and the Possiblity of PND

So, woke up this morning.  Had breakfast.  Took a shower.  Threw up.  Went to Doctor.

Being investigated for a possible infection.  Or could be the vomiting bug that’s going around.

She is sending a referral to psych for me, just in case this antenatal depression turns into post natal depression (PND).  Its not guaranteed that it will, but it is, of course, possible.  This way I will be on psych’s radar again and will get treated fairly quickly if it becomes an issue.

She also said ‘it is better to bottle feed and be functioning on drugs than to insist on breast feeding and not functioning at all.’  She has a point.

I really want to breast feed, it is so good for baby and for me.  But if I can’t, I can’t.   I will come to terms with that, sometime in the next 15 weeks.

So I’m off work for at least the next week, until the possibility of infection is cleared up one way or another.  If I do have an infection, then I may be off another week, not because I’ll be contagious, but because I’ll need to take care of myself and the baby.

I’m sure work is thrilled.  I know I would be, if I was them…

So Last Night Was A Roaring Success

Last night was the dinner to celebrate 10 years of NISP, where I work.  I organized a dinner for 53 people, including a speech by  Minister Arlene Foster, who is the Minister for the organization that first funded NISP starting 10 years ago.

A good time was had by all. Even me. Although today I am totally exhausted!!

Also today Simon and I are heading to the hospital to have a detailed scan done of the baby’s heart. Diabetic mummy’s can give their baby’s enlarged hearts, although it is apparently very rare. This is a ‘better safe than sorry scan’ so if there is an issue a neonatal cardiology paediatrician can be there for the birth. How’s the for a specialist in medicine!

So watch this space. Possible more scanned pics (if they give us any) and definitely a report on the baby’s heart coming up!

Had An OB/Endo Appointment Yesterday

Baby is measuring right on schedule.  Blood Sugar is perfect.  I would be the poster child for pregnant diabetic women.  🙂

In other news, if your boss’ PA tells you you’ve missed a deadline by 3 days, don’t tell her you’ll get to it in another 2 days.  Your boss will probably be less than pleased with you.  Especially if you’ve had over a month and knew what the deadline was.

A New Edition To My BlogRoll…

Norman’s Blog

That is the blog of the CEO of my company.  It may eventually have guest bloggers, i.e. CEOs of tenant companies of the Park.

Norman already writes a weekly column called Inside Innovation for the News Letter here in Northern Ireland.  And now we are going to blog that column and anything else that strikes our fancy!

I am, of course, in charge of this, as I am of so many other things at my company.

So feel free to go read Norman’s Blog.  He’s quite a good writer and what he has to say is very interesting.  And usually fairly topical.

Um…

I was born in a 9 year.  I think I’m a hypocrit.

In other news, I told a friend of mine on the phone today that he should never get pregnant, because it makes you tired.  He didn’t think that would be a problem.

Nothing else much going on.  Getting fatter.  Which I am enjoying.  Really.  Well, kinda….

Huh.

If you had held a gun to my head and asked me if I took my hat and gloves with me when I left the office, I would have said yes.  And you would have shot me for lying.

When I got in this morning, there they were, on my desk.  Huh.

In other interesting news, I received an email today from the assistant to the PA of a CEO.  Since I am the PA to a CEO I asked if I could have an assistant.  I was told no.  Mean bosses.

In other other interesting news, the hypos are getting very old.  But do give me an excuse to eat a bit more than usual!

First Day Back To Work

and it was okay.  I was nauseaous pretty much all day, which was less than fun, but I made it through without hurling, which is fab!

Totally exhausted and probably heading to bed around 9!

I think I can make it through the next two weeks and then I’m on holiday for the following two weeks!

Gotta love the end of the year!

In other news PSA.

A Good Day’s Shopping

including some fab boots for £19!

Yesterday was the day our Board papers go out for the meeting next week.  Its a very long very busy very stressful day for me.  And yesterday was the worst ever.

I had put one set of papers in the copier and headed off for lunch.  Got back and realized I had set the copier wrong and the page that was suppose to be on red paper was on white and a page that was suppose to be on white paper was red.  Luckily it was just those two pages, so I copied them again correctly and switched them out when binding.

Then, as I was binding, I realized I had forgotten two documents.  Luckily they were at the end of the papers, so easy enough to switch out.

Then, after I had bound one of the other sets of papers, for a different company, I realized I had forgotten 2 documents.  So I had to unbind all of them (16 sets!) and add those docs in.  Thoee missing docs were in the front of that set of papers.

So, yeah, not my best day of Board paper creation ever.  But I got it done by 4:10.  My deadline for posting is 4:30.  Well done me!
